America Needs a President Who Cares

I’m not one to express thoughts about politics, but considering the chaos in the world today, I feel it necessary for me to convey my opinion.

There are several issues that keep coming up in America today. One of them includes Black Lives Matter. As the mother of a black child, it sickens me to the core because of the intricacies that come along with the derogatory comments and expressions related to the African American community.

Martin Luther King Jr. began the Civil Rights Movement. Rosa Parks stood her ground when a white man told her to move to the back of the bus and she refused. She immediately made headline news. She joined the Civil Rights Movement in 1956. They helped shape America by taking a stand for what they believe in. Making America a warm and neutral place to live and raise a family.

Now decades later, America has elected a President who is extremely incapable of handling a crisis. Americans used to be able to leave their homes without worrying that they could get mugged or shot to death in front of their house. But times have changed for the worst in the last four years. Sure there’s always been violence in the country and throughout the world, but it’s never been as horrific as it is today. Parents are afraid to send their children to school in fear that their child could be the victim of a school shooting or come homesick because of a virus that could have been prevented if only the American President would’ve hired a Pandemic Advisor. But instead, he downplayed it and he still does. Even after contracting the virus himself, he tells Americans that they shouldn’t be “afraid of the virus”

The pandemic that has threatened not only the United States with 210,000 deaths but the entire world is in harm’s way. People are scared, jobless, unhealthy and we have a President who cares more about stopping mail-in voting than he does about the lives of the American People.

America was founded on the principles of liberty and freedom, not hatred and racism.

This is why everyone who is eligible needs to get to the polls and make their mark. The election is of vital importance this year more than ever before.
